Therapy

So much of our present is colored by our past. Our life experiences can shape how we perceive ourselves, build relationships, and navigate the world around us. At times, the past can impact our daily experiences in ways that are unconscious and no longer useful, leading to a lack of clarity and balance in our mental and emotional states. Through therapy, we can work through life's challenging experiences to pave a path toward greater self-compassion, healing, and fulfillment.

As a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in New York State and graduate of the Silberman School of Social Work, I work with individuals and couples navigating a range of life experiences. I bring clinical training, direct practice experience, and a background rooted in community-based organizations to our work together. I have particular experience working with LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities, and I draw on a range of perspectives and approaches tailored to your unique needs.

How We’ll Work Together

I'll partner with you to create a space that is warm and nonjudgmental so you can show up as yourself as we explore your deepest, unspoken feelings. Whether you're navigating a life transition, relationship challenges, anxiety or stress, or questions about identity, we'll work together to understand what's beneath the surface and find a path forward.

Approaches I Draw From

  • This approach involves tracing our current patterns back to our early life experiences and relationship dynamics. By building awareness of how those experiences have shaped our beliefs and emotional responses, we can untangle what no longer serves us, and develop a deeper understanding of who we are and how we move through the world.

  • We can often find ourselves caught in repeated thought patterns that keep us stuck. By identifying and reframing those patterns, we can shift how we relate to difficult emotions and build new ways of responding to life's demands that feel more grounded and sustainable.

  • We contain many different parts that, at times, can feel in disarray. By distinguishing the self from the inner critic and other parts, we can gain clarity on which parts are taking the wheel in moments of emotional dysregulation. I draw on IFS concepts to help you step back from the parts that are fearful, anxious, or hurt, to build a more compassionate inner dialogue.

  • Emotions often express themselves in the body before we can name them. Through noticing physical sensations, breath, and bodily responses, we can strengthen mind-body awareness and use the body as a pathway toward deeper emotional understanding and healing.

What We’ll Explore

We'll identify the past experiences and early relationship dynamics that shape your conscious and unconscious beliefs. Through this process, we can deepen your understanding of your emotional world and discover feelings that may be more difficult to identify and express. We’ll also map out the many parts within you — parts that are critical or instill self-doubt, and parts that feel aligned and compassionate.

Fees and Insurance

I accept select insurance plans for therapy services. For clients with out-of-network benefits, I provide superbills, which are itemized receipts you can submit directly to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. For clients paying out of pocket, I offer sliding scale fees based on financial need.
